Visa prepaid gift cards are one of the more complicated card types we trade. Here's everything you need to know to get the best deal.
The Activation Fee Problem
Most Visa gift cards sold at US retail stores come with an activation fee of $3–$8 that is deducted from the face value. A '$25' card may only have $17–$22 of usable balance. We pay based on actual balance, not face value.
What We Need to See
For Visa prepaid cards, we require: (1) A clear photo of the front and back. (2) Proof of the current balance via the card's website or balance hotline. We cannot accept cards where the balance is unknown.
No Fee Cards Pay Best
'No fee' Visa gift cards — typically purchased as corporate gifts or through banks — have the full face value available. These fetch our standard ₦1,310–₦1,350/dollar rate.
Vanilla Visa vs Regular Visa
Both are accepted. Vanilla Visa is just a retail brand of prepaid Visa card. The rate is the same, but always check the balance before trading.
