With gift card trading booming in Nigeria, scammers have unfortunately become more sophisticated. Here's how to protect yourself.
Red Flags That Scream 'Scam'
Any vendor asking for your card code BEFORE confirming a rate is a scam. Full stop. Legitimate traders always agree on the rate first, receive the card, verify it, and pay immediately — in that order.
Other warning signs: asking you to scratch a card and send a photo before chatting, sending you to a 'verification website', or promising rates that are ₦200+ above the market average.
How Safe Trading Works
Our process: (1) You tell us what card you have. (2) We agree on a rate via WhatsApp. (3) You send the card details. (4) We verify and pay to your bank within minutes. No mystery steps.
Protecting Your Bank Details
We only ever need your account number and bank name to send payment. We will NEVER ask for your PIN, token, BVN, or internet banking password. Anyone asking for these is a fraudster.
