How to trade your AMC Theatres gift card

1. Start with the balance: AMC runs a gift card balance checker on its own site, which asks for the card number and PIN. You can also call 1-800-255-0311 for a balance inquiry, or ask at the box office of any AMC. If yours is an old Carmike card, that's a separate line: call 1-855-241-6678 instead.

2. Take a clear photograph: Capture the front and back of your card, with the full number and the PIN legible. Before you do, check the first four digits of your card number. If it starts with 6006, that card isn't redeemable in its current state and needs replacing by AMC first, at no cost, by emailing photos of both sides to giftcards@amctheatres.com. Sort that out before you come to us, otherwise we'll only end up sending you back to do it.

3. Tap "Sell My Card": Send the balance, the card format, and your photos on WhatsApp. We'll quote you the current AMC rate, confirm it with you before anything changes hands, and once our verification clears we'll give you a payment timeline and send the money to the bank account you provide.
