Samsung's current support documentation explains balance checking through Samsung Wallet for supported gift cards.

Open Samsung Wallet, select All, go to Payment cards, choose the Gift tab and select the relevant card. If the merchant supplies balance information, the current balance will appear on the card's details screen. You can use the refresh option to update it.

Samsung notes that some merchants do not provide balance information, so not seeing a balance does not necessarily mean the card has no value.
